Clinton Campaign Announces Hillary for Maine Leadership Council

The Clinton Campaign announced the launch of its “Hillary for Maine Leadership Council” (HFME LC) – a group of nearly 40 elected officials, community, coalition and grassroots leaders who will help build a grassroots-driven volunteer team that will help Hillary to win the Maine Caucuses on March 6.

These Leadership Councils will serve as the in-state leadership for the campaign, amplifying the campaign’s national voice to Maine families aiding the campaign with rapid response, organization building, grassroots organizing events, recruiting volunteer leaders, and identifying leaders for Get Out The Vote and Get Out the Caucus activities.

Many of the Leadership Council members share Clinton’s commitment to raising wages for the middle class, her plan to reform health care to reduce prescription drug costs, her passion for reforming the criminal justice system and her belief that debt should never be a barrier for students going to college and much more.

“Hillary’s Clinton’s focus on renewable, clean energy jobs, commitment to raising incomes, and policy proposals on making college more affordable make her the best candidate to be our next President and I’m honored to be on her Maine team, said Former Governor John Baldacci. “When Hillary Clinton came to Maine last month, she energized supporters and laid out the case for her campaign – she’s committed to working to earn every vote in the Maine Caucuses and I know she will be successful.”

“I’m honored to be on Hillary Clinton’s Maine Leadership council as I believe that as our next President, she’ll be a tireless advocate for Mainers,” said Attorney General Janet Mills. “Over the course of her career, Hillary has developed a proven record of results as First Lady of Arkansas, First Lady in the White House, in the Senate, and as our Secretary of State – she’ll be ready on Day 1 to lead our country.”

“Hillary Clinton is committed to working to earn every vote in the Maine caucuses, and I’m honored to work for a candidate that been a champion for women and girls throughout her career,” said Grassroots Volunteer Leader Katie Mae Simpson. “As President, Hillary will continue working to break down barriers to ensure women everywhere can succeed, and that Mainers can get ahead and stay ahead.”

Over the course of the campaign, the HFME LC will continue to expand.
