In every presidential election cycle the mainstream media routinely perpetrates the myth that conservative candidates can’t win. Echoing this tired drumbeat, the Republican Establishment inevitably nominates a weak, unprincipled candidate to go up against the Democrat Party machine. That’s how we got presidential candidates John McCain in 2008 and Mitt Romney in 2012. Sadly neither candidate had the constitutional prowess or the unwavering conservative vision to counter President Obama’s “hope and change.”
In fact, in 2012, the Republican Establishment chose
the one man who
could not take advantage of Obamacare, the most effective wedge issue
in America. The people’s distaste for this disastrous legislation
helped usher in two historical conservative landslides in the 2010 and
2014 mid-term congressional elections. But because Mitt Romney had
already proven himself a proponent of government-run healthcare during
his tenure as Massachusetts Governor, Obamacare – the most divisive of
all issues - was off the table in 2012.
Furthermore the ground gained with Hispanic voters and evangelicals in
key swing states during the 2004 Bush v. Kerry election, were lost.
Romney only received 23% of the Hispanic vote versus 40% for Bush in
2004. And 57 million evangelicals stayed home in 2012 versus 53.7
million in 2004. In essence, neither McCain in ’08 nor Romney in ’12
could get out the vote nor connect with minorities. There was no ground
game, no grassroots enthusiasm and no social media strategy.
WHY TED WILL WIN
In his 1975 speech to CPAC Ronald Reagan said that, “Our people look
for a cause to believe in. Is it a third party we need, or is it a new
and revitalized second party, raising a banner of no pale pastels, but
bold colors which make it unmistakably clear where we stand on all of
the issues troubling the people”.
Ted Cruz is the candidate who best represents the bold colors of true
conservatism and freedom, and his team has the pieces in place to win
the Republican nomination:
Ted’s proven track record, his Hispanic background and his steadfast
Christian faith make him the ideal candidate to win back the lost
ground of the past two elections.
On the key issues that matter most to American voters, Ted has been
right every time.
Unlike Jeb Bush, the Establishment’s preferred candidate, Ted has
demonstrated his appeal among grassroots conservatives, bringing in $10
million from 90,000 donors in the first 100 days of the campaign!
Ted has a history of connecting with Hispanic voters. In his run for
Texas Senator he garnered 40% of the Hispanic vote. To win a swing
state like Florida, Ted would need to receive 66% of the Cuban vote.
Considering that Bush won 78% of the Cuban vote in 2004, and that Ted
himself is of Cuban descent, winning key swing states with large
Hispanic populations is doable.
The 2016 Primary Election Schedule is unlike previous years in that the
first 14 states (through Super Tuesday) have 574 delegates (83%) that
will come from conservative states. This will make it very difficult
for the Establishment candidate to destroy the conservative challenger,
as done in previous years.
While Ted’s candidacy has great momentum, he cannot win this battle
alone. We must mobilize a grassroots army of courageous conservatives
to come alongside Ted and make him the next Republican Presidential
Candidate. This is a fight that we can win, but we need you to make it
happen. Stand with us.

Keep the Promise I is dedicated to the restoration of
America’s
greatness, at home and abroad. Our federal government has become
a bloated morass of dysfunctional, unresponsive elites. Cronyism, back
room deals, executive orders, and inept foreign policy have become
business as usual. We are committed to stopping this
broken system.
That is why Keep the Promise I proudly supports Ted Cruz, a seasoned
and firm Constitutionalist.
As President, Ted Cruz will:
- Restore the faith in a smaller federal government
- Ensure equal opportunity for ALL Americans
- Unleash a dynamic free market
- Rebuild our national defense
- Restore our standing around the world
Join us.

We are a group of courageous conservatives who still
believe that America’s best days are ahead of us — but only if we
restore the constitutional principles and individual freedom upon which
our great nation was founded.
For too long, elite politicians and bureaucrats in
Washington have imposed their big-government policies on hard-working
Americans, making the American Dream increasingly harder to achieve.
They’ve saddled our children and grandchildren with overwhelming debt,
they’ve allowed volatile regions of the world to spiral into chaos, and
they’ve abandoned the Judeo-Christian values that have guided our
nation for more than 200 years.
At Reigniting the Promise, we are committed to the
U.S. Constitution and the rule of law. We champion free-market
principles that allow for economic upward mobility, we value individual
liberty, we support states’ rights, we celebrate legal immigration, we
advocate for safe and secure borders and a strong, resolute foreign
policy, and we embrace the values and traditions that allow a civil
society to flourish.
With these principles as our guide, we seek to restore
America’s standing in the world as a shining city on a hill — a land
where anything is possible.
Today we call on courageous conservatives across the
land to receive the torch of freedom passed on to us from our parents
and grandparents and help return our nation back to the land of
opportunity. Stand with Reigniting the Promise as we reignite the
Promise of America.
We want you to join us.

WHY TED CRUZ?
America needs a
principled and fearless leader who will overturn Obamacare the minute
Barack Obama leaves the Oval Office, one who respects the Constitution
and will stand up to the ruling class in Washington, and one who will
inspire a tidal wave of energy and excitement needed to defeat someone
with a political machine like Hillary Clinton.
Who better to
do that than the man who stood for 21 hours and 19 minutes on the floor
of the U.S. Senate in a historic filibuster against Obamacare and
rallied 2 million Americans to sign a petition to end this government
overreach?
We need Ted Cruz to
run for President!
- Ted Cruz stood up to the gun-grabbing liberals like
Dianne Feinstein to protect the 2nd Amendment.
- Ted Cruz fought to stop the IRS from targeting and
harassing conservatives for political purposes.
- Ted Cruz battled pro-amnesty supporters like Chuck
Schumer.
- Ted Cruz refused to let Harry Reid fund the
implementation of Obamacare without a fight.
- Ted
Cruz exposed senators of both parties for giving Obama a “blank check”
to rack up unlimited debt after they first tried using Senate rules in
a desperate attempt to conceal their vote.
WHY A DRAFT PETITION?
It's
time for Americans to kick-start a national campaign to draft Ted Cruz.
We can't sit on the sidelines and allow a repeat of 2008 and 2012.
That's exactly what Hillary Clinton and the Democrats want us to do.
It's also what Chris Christie, Jeb Bush, and the rest of the Republican
establishment wants.
The last thing anyone in the DC
establishment wants is for grassroots conservatives to start laying the
groundwork RIGHT NOW to put one of our own in the White House in 2016.
That's why the Draft Ted Cruz for President petition
is so important. Your petition does two critical things:
- It urges Senator Ted Cruz to run for president by
showing the overwhelming number of Americans who support him, and
- It
lays the groundwork for the kind of grassroots army of volunteers,
donors, and early-primary voters that is needed to win in 2016.
Our
goal is to collect 1 million signed petitions this year to serve as the
backbone of a campaign that will culminate with Ted Cruz taking the
Oath of Office as the 45th President of the United States on January
20, 2017.
It's time for conservatives to be proud of their vote
again. Please sign the national petition to draft Ted Cruz for
President.
