Diverse Businesses Selected for Design and Printing Contracts Reflect Diversity of Democratic Party

PHILADELPHIA, May 9, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) announced today on Instagram that it has selected AgencyEA as the official design firm for the 2016 Democratic National Convention credential badges. AgencyEA, a Latina-owned business, is an experienced marketing firm that specializes in digital and traditional design. The firm will work with the DNCC, the security printing vendor, and other partners to develop credential designs and artwork.

"Aside from their practical use, convention credentials are keepsakes that will live on long after the convention gavel has dropped and our nominee begins the road to the White House," said Rev. Leah D. Daughtry, CEO of the DNCC. "I am pleased that our efforts to include diverse vendors are reflected in the selection of our credential design and printing firms. As someone who has been involved with conventions since 1992 and still has my credentials from that time, I look forward to sharing these credentials with this year's convention participants."

"AgencyEA is honored to lend our creative expertise to an occasion of this magnitude that will reach so many Americans. Our agency's strong culture incorporates a wide range of backgrounds, passionate opinions and unique life experiences, which all contribute to our clients' messages and projects. To design art for the Democratic National Convention is an honor that not only speaks to our values but allows our creative perspective to impact many," said Gabrielle Martinez, Owner and Managing Partner at AgencyEA.

In order to gain access to the convention each delegate, alternate, staff member, volunteer, vendor, program participant, and member of the media must have a DNCC-issued credential. The credentials have no monetary value and they cannot be replaced. Credentials are only valid for official convention proceedings at the Wells Fargo Center; they do not grant access to events or parties hosted by outside groups.

The DNCC also announced that the credentials will be printed by the Standard Modern Company and Sunrise Hitek. Standard Modern is an African American woman owned, Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) certified, union, environmentally responsible printing, mailing and fulfillment company. Sunrise Hitek is a G7 Qualified Master Printer, FSC certified for being an environmentally responsible company, and a certified Asian-American Pacific Islander (AAPI) certified Minority Business Enterprise. The selection of both printing companies reflects the DNCC's unprecedented diversity target of 35% for all contracting opportunities.

"Standard Modern is honored to have been selected to print the credentials for the 2016 Democratic National Convention. It has always been a pleasure to work with the wonderful, diligent DNCC team in preparation for the conventions," said Linda Smith, President and CEO of the Standard Modern Company.

"Sunrise Hitek is honored to participate in this project, and excited about the opportunity to support the Democratic National Convention. We look forward to a successful event and a great election for our nation," said Jimmy Sun, Owner of the Sunrise Hitek Group.
