LA GOP Announces Hire of New State Director

Today, the Republican Party of Louisiana, in coordination with the Republican National Committee, announced the hire of Chris Young as the party’s state director for Louisiana.

Young will oversee the GOP’s field operation in Louisiana as the party looks to establish an unprecedented Republican grassroots infrastructure and launch field operations earlier than ever before.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Chris Young to the team,” said LAGOP Chairman Roger Villere. “His expertise and experience will be an asset to our team as we look forward to 2014 and beyond. I’m confident Chris will help us build a formidable ground operation to compete for every vote and register new voters so we can defeat Mary Landrieu in 2014 and continue to send conservative reformers to Baton Rouge in 2015.”

“Chris will be a key asset in taking our Party’s infrastructure to the next level,” said LAGOP Executive Director Jason Doré. “In less than a month, we will embark on our statewide “Red to the Roots” tour to strengthen our statewide grassroots network of conservative activists in every corner of Louisiana. These efforts are key to electing a conservative to replace Mary Landrieu in 2014 and for the success of our party in the years ahead.”

“The RNC is working hand in hand with the LAGOP to build an expansive grassroots network throughout the state in order to defeat Mary Landrieu in 2014 and ensure the Republican Party continues its impressive record of success in Louisiana,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “We’re building the most expansive field program the GOP has ever seen, and we’re doing it earlier than ever before. Republicans have never made this kind of investment in an off year. The RNC will be in communities engaging with and listening to voters where they live, work, and worship–not months, but years before Election Day. Our State Directors will play key roles in building a permanent field operation to be successful in elections this year, in 2014, in 2015, in 2016 and beyond.”
