NATIONAL REPUBLICAN COMMITTEES LAUNCH REGISTER.GOP AHEAD OF 2014 ELECTIONS

Washington, D.C. (July 23, 2014) – Jointly, the Republican National Committee (RNC), Republican Governors Association (RGA), National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) and Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) announce a powerful collaboration to register more people to vote in advance of the 2014 midterm elections. As a stated goal, register.gop increases accessibility to enable more people to register to vote – one of our most sacred rights as citizens.

All five committees, representing each level of elected office, will encourage prospective voters to visit register.gop as a simple and secure solution to register to vote. This site represents a new, and ongoing alliance between Republican committees to organize Republican voter registration behind a single automated tool. Centralizing the data collected on register.gop will enable greater “get out the vote” efforts amongst the committees and help Republicans to win more elections.

The simplicity of the site makes it easy for candidates to encourage supporters to use mobile devices to register “on-the-go.” This tool is extremely valuable on college campuses, campaign events, town halls, and issue specific gatherings. Fully functional in English and Spanish, this site enables any new voter to register in a matter of minutes.

“Register.gop is a tool that will be extremely helpful to our field staff and grassroots army who are out in the field building relationships and bringing more Americans into the Republican Party,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “After five years of Obama, Americans are looking for a smart government alternative, a Republican Party that stands for opportunity for all and we look forward to successful midterm and presidential elections ahead.”

NRSC Chairman Jerry Moran explained, “Register.gop is one example of how the broader Republican community is attempting to engage voters online – we encourage people to check it out and also to continually develop their own solutions to ensure the GOP can move to the front of the pack.”

NRCC Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) added, “Register.gop represents a major advancement in cooperation among Republican party committees that will lead to success at the ballot box and further innovation from the party of ideas. The NRCC, along with our sister committees, is committed to building and supporting a voter registration platform that provides us with a permanent technological advantage over Democrats. Register.gop will be a powerful tool in the GOP’s arsenal not just for this election cycle, but for years to come.”

The RNC, RGA, NRSC, NRCC and RSLC will utilize this tool for races up and down the ticket. We are excited to launch this product to advance voter registration accessibility on the way to the 2014 mid-term elections.

Register.gop is launching on .gop, the brand-new domain name for Republicans on the web. This is the first of many organizing tools to be launched on the domain.
