Over 6,000 Political Scientists Gather in Washington, DC...2 of 3 >
Aug. 29-31, 2014 -- More scenes from the exhibit space at The American Political Science Association's 110th Annual Meeting at the Wardman Park Hotel.
In addition to the many publishers, in the exhibit space includes a range of organizations.
The Roper Center for Public Opinion Research at the University of Connecticut is "one of the world's leading archives of social science data, specializing in data from surveys of public opinion."  Whereas a couple of decades ago it required a lot of "hand holding" to make use of its resources, the Center's website now has engines that make it possible to do analysis online.  As the data at the Roper Center comes from many different sources going back to the 1930s, one challenge has been to standardize the information.
Dr. Dennis B. Rogers is taking a sabbatical to develop Student Government of America (SGA) Model US Congress, a program scheduled for March 2015.  Similar to the model UN program, the SGA Model US Congress aims to have college students "walk a mile in their Congress member’s shoes."
