Oct. 30, 2014 -- A long line of
students waits to get into Ritchie
Coliseum for the get-out-the-vote rally
in support of the Anthony Brown-Ken Ulman ticket for governor and
lieutenant governor.

Ben Kramer, president of UMD
College Democrats, led off the speakers.

Prince George's County Executive
Rushern L. Baker III, Congressman Chris Van Hollen, and Attorney
General candidate Brian Frosh spoke next. Of Republicans, Van
Hollen said, "They want you to stay home" and not vote. Frosh
noted that Brown "has served his country for 30 years." He
pointed to Republican gubernatorial nominee Larry Hogan's A- ranking
with the National Rifle Association, and said Brown is the best
candidate "to keep guns off the streets, keep guns out of the hands of
criminals."

Then came Congressman Steny
Hoyer, Senator Ben Cardin and Senator Barbara Mikulski.
Hoyer recalled seeing John F. Kennedy speak at the same venue in 1960
and in 1976 he saw then presidential candidate Jerry Brown speak
there. Anthony Brown and Ken Ulman are "on your side," Hoyer said. |

Howard County Executive Ken
