Nov. 18, 2014 -- Although the temperatures hovered around freezing, Members-elect of the House freshman class posed for their class photo.  Several races are not yet decided.

Members-elect arrive...
Rep.-elect Ted Lieu (D-CA) (at right, walking), an assemblyman in the 33rd CD in Southern California, was elected to succeed veteran Congressman Henry Waxman (D).  Lieu was born in Taiwan.
Rep.-elect Mia Love (R-UT) (center right) was elected in the 4th CD after a narrow loss in 2012.  She will be the first black female Republican to serve in Congress.
Rep.-elect Frank Guinta (R-NH) (center) reclaimed the 1st CD seat from Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D).

Assemble...

Katie Patru, deputy staff director for outreach and communication at the Committee on House Administration, collects coats.  The Members-elect all started on the steps, but eventually some found their way to the upper levels.
First for the official photographer, then for the press.

And disperse...
Rep.-elect Rod Blum (R-IA), a businessman from Dubuque, elected in the 1st CD, does an interview.  He said the experience thus far is somewhat akin to "drinking from a fire hydrant."  Blum will succeed Rep. Bruce Braley (D), who waged an unsuccessful campaign for U.S. Senate.
