Aug. 7, 2014 - In addition to
speaking on the minimum wage, Gov. Martin
O'Malley (D-MD) highlighted several facts about the Maryland economy,
noting that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has ranked the state number
one in innovation and entrepreneurship for three years in a
row; that the state has has had the highest median household income for
four years in a row; and that the state ranks high in upward
mobility.

O'Malley also answered questions
on the Washington Redskins name controversy and on unaccompanied
immigrant children but declined to answer a question on his 2016
presidential ambitions.
Perez characterized the "partnership" between Gov. O'Malley and
President Obama as "consistently strong" and said "Maryland sets an
example in so many different ways."

After lunch Gov. O'Malley
fielded
a few more questions from Baltimore and DC media. He addressed
the Maryland Public Servic Commission's ruling on Uber, the ride
sharing company, dismissed a web ad from the Hogan for governor
campaign attacking Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, and answered several more
questions on the "courageous refugee kids."
