Gov. O'Malley and Labor Sec. Perez Push Raising Minumum Wage...2 of 2 >
Aug. 7, 2014 - In addition to speaking on the minimum wage, Gov. Martin O'Malley (D-MD) highlighted several facts about the Maryland economy, noting that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has ranked the state number one in innovation and entrepreneurship for three years in a row; that the state has has had the highest median household income for four years in a row; and that the state ranks high in upward mobility.
O'Malley also answered questions on the Washington Redskins name controversy and on unaccompanied immigrant children but declined to answer a question on his 2016 presidential ambitions.  Perez characterized the "partnership" between Gov. O'Malley and President Obama as "consistently strong" and said "Maryland sets an example in so many different ways."

After lunch Gov. O'Malley fielded a few more questions from Baltimore and DC media.  He addressed the Maryland Public Servic Commission's ruling on Uber, the ride sharing company, dismissed a web ad from the Hogan for governor campaign attacking Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, and answered several more questions on the "courageous refugee kids."
