Heritage Foundation Action's Conservative Policy Summit  ...1 of 3 >
Jan. 12, 2015 -- Headlining the first day of Heritage Foundation Action's two-day Conservative Policy Summit, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) told attendees that the Republicans majorities in Congress "need to do what we said we would do."  Cruz outlined a ten-point agenda of "jobs, liberty and security."  Topping the list was the energy renaissance he spoke about at last year's Summit. Cruz said Republicans need to "do everything humanly possible to repeal Obamacare".  He condemned Obama's executive action on immigration.  Cruz continued, speaking on judicial activism, the culture of corruption, taxes (he said Congress should "tee up simplification of the tax code" and ultimately "abolish the IRS"), auditing the Fed, a strong balanced budget amendment, repealing Common Core and implementing school choice ("school choice is the civil rights issue of the 21st century"), and "the twin threats of ISIS and a nuclear Iran."
