Former Gov. Martin O'Malley Announces His Candidacy  ...Next >

These O'Malley supporters traveled all the way from Toronto, a nine-hour drive, to see O'Malley's announcement.  Theresa Lubowitz "kind of roped in" Cole Davidson and Stephen Crocker to make the trip.  She said she admires "his progressive record both in Baltimore and in Maryland."

Lydia Walther-Rodriguez of CASA in Action (at left) brought a group of new citzens (and newly registered voters) to learn about the process.  While not endorsing O'Malley, Walther-Rodriguez noted that, "As governor, he's been very pro-immigrant, passing the Maryland DREAM Act and drivers licenses."

Bill Delvac, a land use lawyer from Los Angeles, made a day trip to see O'Malley's announcement, arriving on a red-eye flight to Dulles and scheduled to leave out of Dulles in the evening.  "This is a man that can change the country," Delvac said of O'Malley.  Delvac lauded O'Malley's intellect and ideals.  "We need a good candidate and a great president: that's Martin O'Malley," he said.
The crowd is ready.
