May 7, 2016--The district convention also provides an opportunity for candidates to connect with the local GOP activists.  Above, Ed Gillespie, the leading candidate for governor in 2017.
State Sen. Jill Holtzman Vogel, a candidate for lieutenant governor in 2017.  Listening is Jay McConville, a former chairman of the Fairfax County Republican Committee, who served as a Virginia co-chair of Carly Fiorina's presidential campaign super PAC.  (Another candidate for lieutenant governor, State Sen. Charles Hernick, an environmental consultant, is seeking the Republican nomination for Congress in VA-08 in the June 14 primary.  The winner will face U.S. Rep. Don Beyer (D).
Mike Webb, a retired army officer is seeking the Republican nomination for Congress in VA-08 in the June 14 primary.   The winner will face U.S. Rep. Don Beyer (D).
Del. Rob Bell, a candidate for attorney general in 2017, was not present, but his parents were on hand.
John Adams is running for attorney general as well.
