“I am happy to welcome Congressman Mark Amodei as chairman of our Nevada campaign. He has resisted the pull of special interests in Washington to fight for change and for the people of Nevada. Recent polls have shown us leading this important battleground state and Congressman Amodei will help us keep that momentum going and help me Make America Great Again,” said Donald Trump.
Amodei, who has campaigned in Nevada multiple times for the Trump-Pence ticket, said he was honored to take an official role as the Nevada Chairman for the campaign.
"I’ve seen the damage caused by seven years of the Obama Administration’s influence over health care, national security, foreign relations, energy, and the economy," stated Congressman Amodei. "Not to mention the ever-growing list of crippling federal regulations and the lack of transparency and accountability displayed by our federal agencies. Quite frankly, given a choice between continuing these policies on for the next four years, or trying something else – I pick change. I am pleased to be supportive of our nominee, Donald Trump, and look forward to joining him as we begin the long process of making Washington a problem solver instead of a political quagmire.”
Congressman Amodei was elected to Congress in a special election in 2011 and was re-elected in 2012 and 2014. He serves on the House Appropriations Committee and is a member of the Congressional Western Caucus.
A Rasmussen poll released Tuesday shows Mr. Trump leading Hillary Clinton in the Silver State by 3 points (42-39).
