"A message to the South Carolina
Democratic Party"
+
2:24 video from April 26, 2015.
Clinton: Hello, South
Carolina Democrats, to your chair Jaime Harrison, party officers,
elected officials, friends and delegates. Thank you so
much. Thank you for organizing precincts, making calls, knocking
on doors, registering voters; thank you for the hours you've spent and
the blocks you've walked on behalf of the South Carolina Democratic
Party.
I know that this work
is challenging, but you don't do it because it's easy; you do it
because you care.
You care about quality
education from pre-K through college.
You care about our
seniors, who shouldn't have to choose between rent and medication.
You care that everyone
is treated with respect by law enforcement, and that no politician ever
takes your vote for granted.
You care about creating
good jobs and paying workers fairly.
And you're determined
to do something about it.
Now we don't yet know
who the Republican nominee for president will be, but we do know
they'll be offering the same economic agenda that has failed American
families again and again, a throwback to the past instead of a vision
for the future.
I think there are four
big fights that we need to wage in this campaign and win.
We have to build the
economy of tomorrow, not yesterday, and make the middle class mean
something again.
We have to strengthen
families and communities because strong families make a strong America.
We have to fix our
dysfunctional political system and get all that unaccountable money out
of it.
And we have to protect
our country from the threats that we're facing today and the ones over
the horizon.
From the Low Country to
[the] Upstate to the PeeDee region to the Midlands, South Carolinians
need a champion and I want to be that champion. I hope you'll go
to HillaryClinton.com/SouthCarolina, and sign up to volunteer and get
involved in my campaign. We've got a great team on the ground who
are eager to work with you. There's so much we can do together to
help all Americans build better lives for themselves and their families.
So thank you for your
commitment and for all your great work. I look forward to seeing
you in person soon.
