"Mike Huckabee's Reagan, Thatcher, Pope John Paul II Tour" +

[Music] Mike Huckabee: Hello, I'm Mike Huckabee.  I want to invite you on a remarkable journey to explore how God used extraordinary leaders to awaken nations during extraordinary times.  We're calling in the Reagan, Thatcher, Pope John Paul tour.  I'd like you to come along as my guest.

God truly chooses the unlikely to accomplish the impossible.  Three remarkable leaders: Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher and Pope John Paul II were the human instruments that God used to change the course of all world history.  None of them were qualified according to the press, the political pundits or the professional critics, but rooted in their unshakable beliefs they rose to become prophetic voices for freedom and opportunity.

Their leadership and vision emboldened ordinary people, and nations responded.  In their lifetimes history witnessed the fall of communism, the restoration of economic freedoms and the spiritual renewal of cultures.

I'm inviting you to join Janet and me, along with David and Cindy Lane November the 12th through the 21st as we travel to see and experience the historical, social and spiritual forces that helped shape Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher and Pope John Paul II.

Now we're going to begin our journey in Krakow, Poland, where then-Cardinal Carol Wotoja presided over a strong and influential church that valiantly resisted Nazism and communism.  We'll visit the field where as Pope John Paul II he spoke to over a million Poles and fueled their belief that there could be a better future for their nation.  We're going to learn about, we'll even hear from courageous leaders who rose up to face unimaginable challenges.  And we're going to visit Auschwitz and Birkenau, the infamous Nazi death camps, in what's going to be one of the most sobering experiences of our journey and of your lifetime.  We're going to pray together that these horrors will never be repeated again.

From there we'll fly to London and there explore the impact of Margaret Thatcher, Britain's first female prime minister; she'd be repeatedly tested, often ridiculed for her staunch belief in an economy that's based on employment, responsibility and accountablity.  We'll meet with current and past British officials to learn first-hand how this lady helped save a nation and influence the world.  We're also going to visit the Churchill war rooms and be immersed in the times that tried men's souls, and we're going worship together in the historic setting where William Wilberforce challenged the conscience of a nation through his unwavering commitment to truth.

We'll end our remarkable journey by spending a day at the Reagan Library in beautiful Simi Valley, California.  Ronald Reagan embodied the best of the American Dream.  He believed in America, and he didn't shrink back from his conviction that our great land was truly established by Providence to be a city on a hill.

Now we know the demands on your time, and just how stressful travel can be, so we've structured the trip and arrange the details so that you can focus on being spiritually renewed and tangibly challenged as you ponder the great hallmarks of freedom.

So, what's your responsibility.  Well, simple.  Come back reminded of how powerful Biblical ideas have been throughout history and how necessary it is to boldly implement them today, and be recommitted to leading in your congregation, your community and our nation.

I think you agree.  Our world needs to be awakened again.  Our nation cries out for bold leadership again.  I hope you'll join me on the Reagan, Thatcher, Pope John Paul Tour and experience how God raises up extraordinary leaders to face extraordinary times.

Notes: in coordination with David Lane's American Renewal Project, Huckabee led a group of pastors and leaders from Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada on a ten-day tour titled "Reagan, Thatcher, Pope John Paul II: God Raising Extraordinary Leaders for Extraordinary Times."  The tour went to Krakow, London and the Reagan Library and was to "serve as a stark reminder of what can happen when people look the other way in the face of tyranny."
