2:10 video from June 20, 2014, shown at the FFC's "Road to Majority"
Conference
[Music, heart beating sound]
TEXT: She
can't talk yet.
But in the beating of her tiny
heart...
the question is heard loud & clear.
Sen. Rand Paul (undated C-SPAN clip from anti-abortion rally): I have a question. Can a nation conceived conceived in liberty carry its head high if it denies protection to the youngest and most vulnerable of its citizens? Can a country founded on God-given rights continue to thrive without understanding that life is a precious gift from our Creator? I believe that great nations and great civilizations spring from a people who have a moral compass.
Sen. Rand Paul (clip from 2011 Voter Values Summit): I don't think a civilization can long endure if it does not have respect for all human life born and not yet born. [applause]
Sen. Rand Paul (audio): As a physician I have looked into the eyes of one-pound babies. I have cradled their small bodies in the palm of one hand. I defy those who are careless, who would disregard life...
TEXT:
Will
we
speak for her?
Sen. Rand Paul (audio):
...look at these tiny miracles and say we're not going to protect that.
TEXT: What will history say of us...
...if we stay silent?
Sen. Rand Paul (audio): But
I believe there will come a time when we are all judged on whether or
not we took a stand in defense of all life from the moment of
conception until our last natural breath.
Sen. Rand Paul (clip from 2011
Voter Values Summit): As a teenager I gave my first public
speech in my church.
TEXT: Will you speak out?
My hands shook; my heart pounded. I thought to myself, I can't
do this. But somehow I did, and because I wanted to talk about
things that were important, I persisted. I chided my church, as a
senior in high school, for not seeming to care about the not-yet-born,
for looking the other way and for not taking a stand on life.
Sen. Rand Paul (audio) [heart beating]: I will be
in earnest. I will not equivocate and I will not excuse. I
will not retreat an inch and I will be heard.
Sen. Rand Paul (audio):
One thing I promise you, I will always take a stand for life.
