Marco Rubio for President
Marco Rubio for President
"Iowans: Marco makes us proud"
+
1:47 video from May 14, 2015.
[Music]
Rubio: How are you? Good to see you.
Unidentified Woman: Hi.
Welcome. Nice to meet you.
Rubio: Thank you for
hosting me; I appreciate it.
Unidentified Woman 2: Marco
Rubio is here today to visit with us as small business leaders here
within the communities of Iowa. As we move forward, he's our man.
Rubio: I believe with all
my heart that our nation is on the verge of another American century.
Newscaster: Decision 2016
and Marco Rubio now on the campaign trail as an official candidate for
president. The Florida Republican greeting about 200 voters at a
house party near Des Moines yesterday.
Woman attendee: I like his
energy, I like his directness, his boldness...
Woman attendee 2: He comes
from modest means, and he knows what it means to work...
Man attendee 1: He speaks
to the future, he doesn't look behind, he makes you proud to be an
American again...
Rubio (clips from FFC): You
cannot have a strong country without strong people, and you cannot have
strong people without strong values. Values have to be taught to
you. They are taught to you in the most basic cell of society,
the family.
And we need leaders that
understand this fundamental truth.
We are holding ourselves
back because of tax policies and regulations and the national debt that
hamstrings our ability to grow. The result is extraordinary
uncertainty that's now overcome our country.
And the question is how can
this be happening? How can this be happening to this most
extraordinary place, this nation without parallel or equal in all of
human history.
And the answer is we have
the wrong people running it.
This generation will turn
the page. And we will do for our children what our parents did
for us: leave for them the single greatest nation in the history of all
mankind. [applause]
