"It's Not Over" +
2 min. TV ad run in SC starting Feb. 17, 2016.

Erica Garner: This is
everything that I have, my family.
Alyssa,
she's
six
years
old. Recently she just learned about Rosa
Parks. She asked me did Rosa Parks not give up her seat for a
white man, and I said yes, and I had to explain to her that it's not
really over. This is what mommy is, I'm and activist. And
the same thing Martin Luther King was--he fought for our rights--is the
same thing I'm doing in honor of her poppop. [image of Eric Garner]
My
dad's
name
is
Eric Garner. I was able to see my dad die on
national TV. They don't know what they took from us. I'm
just trying to get the truth out there; he was being a loving man that
he was and he was murdered. For a whole year I've
protested. I feel like a representative because I'm doing this,
I'm speaking out. Me being his daughter, I'm never giving up, I'm
never going to forget what happened to my dad.
Our
people
died
for
this. Martin Luther King died for this.
I'm
behind
anyone
who's
going to listen and speak up for us, and I think we
need to believe in a leader like Bernie Sanders.
Sanders (clip from speech):
It
is
not
acceptable to me that we have seen young black men be beaten
and be killed unjustly.
Erica Garner: People
are dying. This is real. This is not TV. We need a
president that's going to talk about it.
Sanders (clip from speech):
I
want
to
see an America where when young black men walk down the
street, they will not be harrassed by police officers, they will not be
killed, they will not be shot.
Erica Garner: That's
why I'm for Bernie.
Sanders
(voiceover): I'm Bernie Sanders, and I approve this
message.

Sanders Campaigns in South Carolina,
Criminal Justice and Civil Rights TV Ad Set to Air
CHARLESTON, S.C. – U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders brought his White
House campaign back to South Carolina on Tuesday with two morning stops
in Columbia and an afternoon town meeting here where he predicted his
come-from-behind campaign will surprise pundits when Palmetto State
Democrats go to the polls on Feb. 27.
“On Election Day, I think folks here in South Carolina are going to
wake up the next morning and find a very big surprise,” Sanders said to
cheers from supporters at the historic Memminger Auditorium.
Earlier Tuesday, Sanders spoke at a prayer breakfast at the
historically black Allen University about his proposals on a range of
issues from reforming the criminal justice system to creating jobs and
raising wages.
Speaking to a mostly-student audience at the University of South
Carolina, Sanders detailed proposals for tuition-free public colleges
and universities. He also detailed plans to rebuild crumbling roads and
bridges with a five-year, $1 trillion investment in infrastructure
improvements.
Sanders was introduced at the university by Erica Garner, whose father
died when he was choked to death during an arrest two years by New York
City police officers. She called Sanders a "fearless public servant
that is not afraid to stand against the establishment for the people.”
Erica Garner is featured in a new television ad set to air here in a
six-figure ad buy on stations in South Carolina and on national
television beginning Wednesday.
The campaign day in South Carolina followed Sanders’ 22-point victory
one week ago in New Hampshire and a tie in the Feb. 1 Iowa precinct
caucuses.

The Clinton campaign one upped this, gaining the backing of Gwen Carr,
mother of Eric Garner, and others as shown in this Feb. 21 release from
