+
:30 TV ad run in IA and NH starting Jan. 5, 2015 (announced Jan. 4).
[Music]
Trump (voiceover):
I'm
Donald
Trump
and
I
approve this message.
Male Announcer:
The
politicians
can
pretend
it's
something else, but Donald Trump calls
it radical Islamic terrorism.
That's why he's calling for a temporary shutdown of Muslim entering
the United States until we can figure out what's going on.
He'll cut the head off ISIS and take their oil.
And he'll stop illegal immigration by building a wall on our
Southern border that Mexico will pay for.
Trump (clip from rally): We will make America great again.

(New York, NY) January 4th, 2015
- Today
Donald J. Trump unveiled his first campaign ad, which will
air in the early states of Iowa and New Hampshire beginning Tuesday,
January 5th. Mr. Trump will be spending at least $2 million
dollars per week, with $1.1 million allocated to TV in Iowa and close
to $1 million spent on TV in New Hampshire.
Mr. Trump said, “I am
leading
in every poll by wide, double digit margins. We have tremendous crowds,
incredible support from all over the country and I am $35 million
dollars under budget. We have spent the least amount of money and have
the best results and this is the kind of thinking the country needs. I
am very proud of this ad, I don’t know if I need it, but I don’t want
to take any chances because if I win we are going to Make America Great
Again.”
The initial ad focuses on the key
issues
of Mr. Trump’s campaign including national security, illegal
immigration and his vision to Make America Great Again.
Mr. Trump has previously run radio ads in the first three

premiering this week featuring Kathryn Gates-Skipper, the first female
Marine to serve in combat operations. Kathryn endorsed
Mr. Trump at his Sarasota rally in November.

The ad included footage not of the Mexican border but of the Moroccan
border, prompting a bit of discussion. The DNC weighed in on
Jan. 5 with an amusing "Factivists":
Trump Campaign Vows to Sue Itself
Donald
Trump’s first television ad has been blasted for spiteful rhetoric and
misleading elements, including the fact that footage used in the ad is
of the Moroccan border—not
the U.S.-Mexico border. At first, Trump and his campaign said use of
the misleading footage was done on purpose. Later, Trump’s lawyer said
he would threaten legal action against whomever decided to include the
footage.
“This is not the first time that Donald
Trump has threatened to sue
someone, but suing his own campaign is certainly a first,” said DNC
national press secretary Mark Paustenbach.
Yesterday:
Trump’s campaign manager
Corey Lewandowski said, "No s***, it's not the Mexican border but
that's what our country is going to look like. This was 1,000 percent
on purpose."
When asked if the footage was
misleading, Trump repeatedly said “no” and suggested the footage was
intentionally chosen.
Today:
Michael Cohen, Trump’s special counsel,
stated
that, “I don’t know who did it … Whoever the person is, I’m sure I’ll
be sending them a letter very soon on behalf of Mr. Trump.”
