John Bolton: I've spent my life fighting to secure America's place in a challenging world.  That fight has never been more critical.  For America to succeed in overcoming the challenges ahead, we must all be willing to serve.

In 2013 I began considering a run for president because I firmly believe that national security needed to return to the center of the political debate.

In 2014 we made great strides toward achieving this goal, and national security is once again a top issue with voters.

Over the past months I've spoken with citizens In Des Moines, Columbia, Greenville, Nashua, Manchester and other great cities across America.  They understand the most important challenge facing the next president is keeping America safe.

As I look forward, I have decided not to see the Republican nomination for president.  I believe I can make the strongest contribution to our future by continuing as a clear and consistent advocate for a strong Reaganite foreign policy that values peace through strength. 

And that's not all.  While I am not a candidate, I am certainly not going to sit this election out.  As in 2014, I'll be supporting national security candidate and stressing those issues in the Senate and House campaigns.

I'm also going to focus on the 2016 presidential race to make certain foreign policy is critical to winning the nomination.

Nor will I stand idle while our president surrenders our national interests and liberals rally around his ideological twin, Hillary Clinton.
