Bernie 2016 – State Organizing Directors

STATE ORGANIZING DIRECTOR OPENINGS FOR BERNIE SANDERS PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tens of thousands of people are already working to elect Bernie in every state. Out of this movement, the State Organizing Directors for March 1st states will build large disciplined and accountable volunteer-driven state organizations, as well as launch traditional staff-led field operations in these key states.

State Organizing Directors will be part of a small, tightly-knit team working to run the overall organizing program in March 1 primary and caucus states to elect Bernie and build a political revolution.

State Organizing Directors will manage Campaign Coordinators, other staff and high-level volunteer leaders, providing overall strategic direction to ensure victory on March 1st. State Organizing Directors will work with key state political leaders, constituencies and organizations to build support for Bernie. They will inspire, support, and hold accountable our growing volunteer-led state and local organization as well as staff operations.

State Organizing Directors must have a high level of respect for volunteers and understand that countless volunteers in our movement have an extremely high level of talent, skill, and experience.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience running state-level or equivalently large campaign and field organizations;
  • Track record of experience building and managing highly effective and productive teams of staff and volunteers;
  • Deep experience with and understanding of the voter contact operations and GOTV;
  • Experience with current voter contact tools and technology;
  • Experience working with data directors to set and work towards field campaign goals;
  • High level of comfort working with tools like Slack, Google docs, large phone and video conferencing software, and other tools. Familiarity with a CRM like Blue State Digital a plus;
  • A good sense of humor and a strong commitment to the ideals of the Bernie 2016 campaign;
  • The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of organizing best practices and familiarity with distributed/online-to offline organizing practices;
  • You must be committed to building strong, accountable, disciplined volunteer-led organizations.
